Investment Stage
At ML Partners, we invest across both early and later stages through two separate funds. For early-stage companies, we typically lead or co-lead investments in ventures that have launched products and begun receiving customer feedback. For later-stage companies, we support complete management teams with an annual revenue run-rate of $20M+ and above. Our approach is flexible, tailoring each round to the specific needs of the company—without imposing artificial constraints like minimum check size or ownership stakes. We also consider secondary opportunities as part of our later-stage focus.
Investment Sector
The most successful startups often create their own sectors, which is why our favorite “sector” is a strong founding team applying technology to disrupt or create a new market. While we’ve had notable success in SaaS, marketplaces, fintech, and martech, we keep an open mind, knowing that technology is transforming every corner of the economy. Geographic Focus
Our primary focus is on key markets where we have a strong presence: Montreal, QC, Austin, TX, and Charleston, SC. Investment Size
For early-stage companies, we typically write initial checks ranging from $1 to $6 million, often leading rounds of $3 to $15 million. For growth-stage companies, we invest $5 to $10 million in rounds of any size, ensuring that the capital is tailored to your company’s growth needs.
